Nine questions. Ask them all. An artist who answers every one clearly is almost certainly safe to book. An artist who brushes any of them off is a no, regardless of their portfolio.

The nine questions

  1. What paste do you use, and is it 100% natural henna?
  2. How do you handle hygiene between clients?
  3. Can I see recent bridal work from the last three months?
  4. What is included in the quoted price?
  5. What happens if you are ill or have to cancel?
  6. How early will you arrive for a bridal booking?
  7. How long does your paste take to dry, and what is your after-care guidance?
  8. Do you offer a touch-up on the wedding morning?
  9. Is the deposit refundable if I cancel, and under what terms?
